We (Laurence Jackson and Russell Waller) established JW Financial Services to ensure we could continue to offer clients a personal, independent and cost-effective service. With a combined experience in financial services of over 40 years, and having worked together for more than a decade, we understand the significance of you trusting us with your financial planning.

If your adviser is ever unavailable be assured, we work closely together and therefore are both available, along with our support staff, to assist where possible.
Russell Waller, Director/Chartered Financial Planner
I have been working in the Financial Services industry since 1987, dealing with individual clients of all ages, as well as companies, looking across the whole market for solutions to client’s needs.
Over the last 4 decades of working directly with client’s, I have accumulated invaluable experience and knowledge, culminating in achieving Chartered Status, the gold standard in our industry, which is a symbol of technical competence, demonstrating a commitment to providing professional standards when dealing with all aspects of my client's financial affairs.
Here at JW Financial Services Ltd we see our role as the bridge between the vast array of providers, products and services which are available to help with clients' hopes and objectives throughout their working lives and into retirement.
I have been working closely with Laurence Jackson for well over a decade, and we both strive to first understand our clients' needs and financial goals, from there provide sound advice, and ongoing support.
Our aim is to ensure the objectives we set at outset stay on track, and through our experiences look to avoid the pitfalls, and hurdles, that may come along.
The goals clients look for may be simply trying to ensure they have enough funds later in life to enjoy their retirement, or ensuring they pass on their wealth to their loved ones, at the appropriate time, in the most tax efficient method.
On a personal level, I have been in a Civil Partnership with my partner for over 20 years, and we have one son and a frisky cat too, called Rio. Laurence and I are both football fans with Newcastle and Arsenal the main topic of conversation first thing Monday morning!
I am also doing my best to defy father time and compete in Triathlons along with half marathons.

Laurence Jackson, Director/Chartered Financial Planner
I have over a decade of experience in the financial services industry and are proud to hold the Chartered Financial Planner designation. This qualification evidences my experience, technical knowledge and commitment to the highest professional standards.
Throughout my career, I have helped clients navigate the complexities of personal finance to achieve their long-term goals. Understanding your needs and objectives is the foundation of our working relationship. I will take the time to listen and learn about your unique circumstances, risk tolerance and your financial situation. This allows me to develop an holistic plan that considers all these individual elements.
I recognise that financial decisions are important and are often not easy to make. I will always work at your pace, guiding you along the way, helping you make a decision you both understand and are comfortable with.
Prior to starting my career, I completed a degree in Economics at Newcastle University (As an avid Newcastle United fan, I particularly enjoyed my time there). Outside of work, I enjoy watching and playing sports and, being originally from the Lake District, hiking in the countryside (as long as its not too cold.. or too hot!).
I live with my wife and cat, Rafa, who, if we have a video call, you may get to meet (don’t worry, I mean my cat, not my wife).

Matthew Rathbone, Paraplanner
I have worked in the Financial Services industry since 2017. I currently hold the Diploma status in Regulated Financial Planning and am currently working towards achieving Chartered status.
Through my relatively short period in the industry, I have continuously built my knowledge, and have gained valuable experience through my 18 month's working with Russell and Laurence.
I endeavour to achieve the best possible client outcomes in all facets of my work, and client satisfaction is my number one priority.
I understand that Finances can be very stressful and my goal is to try and relieve as much of the stress as possible and allow our clients peace of mind that they are in safe hands.
I live with my wife in Knebworth, Outside of work I am a keen sportsman playing Football, Cricket and Golf in my spare time.
Along with Russell I am too am an Arsenal fan, and spend my weekends regularly watching the football and hoping this will finally be the year we win the title.
